Frequently Asked Questions –

Where is my mailbox located?

All neighborhood mailboxes are located on the west side of Birch Street.

Can I add or remove landscaping?

You are welcome to enhance your yard with additional landscaping. However, removal of existing landscaping—especially trees and shrubs—requires prior approval from the HOA. The City of Florence mandates minimum landscaping standards, including the presence of trees and shrubs throughout the neighborhood.

Can I build a shed or other outbuilding?

Yes. Each home is permitted one accessory building, such as a shed, subject to HOA approval. The building must:

  • Be no larger than 250 square feet
  • Match the appearance, color, and building materials of the primary dwelling
  • Be placed in a location approved by the HOA

Can I build a fence?

Yes, fences are allowed with prior approval from the HOA. Please submit a plan for review before beginning construction.

Can I use my home as a short-term rental (Airbnb, VRBO, etc.)?

No. Short-term rentals are not permitted within the Stonefield community.

Are signs or flags allowed to be displayed?

In general, signs are not permitted if visible from neighboring properties. Exceptions include:

  • Signs required by law or legal proceedings (e.g., construction signs)
  • One residential "For Sale" sign not exceeding 6 square feet
  • Residence identification signs, with prior written approval from the Architectural Review Committee

Flags: Only the following flags may be displayed on the exterior of a home:

  • American Flag
  • State of Oregon Flag
  • City of Florence Municipal Flag

All flagpoles must be approved by the HOA prior to installation.
